The UC Santa Cruz Ballroom Dance Club is the club for anyone who wants to learn ballroom dance. Everyone is welcome—whether you've never danced a single step or you want to brush up on your moves and have a fun time. We offer drop-in social ballroom classes on Mondays and Saturdays, covering many of the ballroom dances such as Waltz, Tango, Cha-cha, Rumba, Salsa, Samba, Hustle, and Swing. No experience is necessary!
We also have a competitive team that competes at intercollegiate events across the country! The team travels across California to compete against other collegiate teams and travels across the country to compete at Nationals! We've helped send our dancers to New York, Pennsylvania, and Utah to represent the school. Four of our dancers are National Champions!
Right now, we are gearing up to attend the first NDCA Collegiate Nationals at San Luis Obispo in May! We have many hardworking, dedicated dancers who would like the opportunity to compete and represent the school.
We appreciate any donation! If you would like to make a bigger donation, here's how your money can impact the club:
- $50 can cover registration fees for one dancer at a competition
- $100 can cover gas costs to a nearby competition
- $150 can cover a hotel room for 4 dancers at an away competition
- $200 can cover a group lesson with a coach
