About

Chinquapin Literary Magazine is raising funds to support the yearly production of our publication. Founded in 1979, Chinquapin is the longest-running literary magazine at UC Santa Cruz and has been serving the student body as a platform for creative expression and validation ever since.

Chinquapin prides itself on being a completely student-run publication; our editorial staff gets the unique opportunity to gain valuable publishing skills through a hands-on experience that no class can truly offer. We are excited to begin compiling this year's magazine beginning in the spring quarter.

The magazine is composed of student-submitted art, poetry, prose, and photography–giving students the rare opportunity to become a published writer or artist before graduating.

By donating today, you will:

- Help more students get the chance to see their art, their story, and themselves have a material home in a publication.

- Increase the accessibility of fiction, art, poetry, and photography for the student body.

- Allow us to publish greater volumes of the 45th Chinquapin Literary Magazine for distribution to the student body.

- Inspire others to explore their creativity!

Spring Give 2025 begins next week. All donations are welcome and appreciated. We are joyfully anticipating this year's magazine and cannot wait to share it with you!

A huge thank you from,

Chinquapin Editorial Staff 2024-25
