The UCSC Men’s and Women’s Rugby Clubs are entering their most ambitious season yet. The Men’s team, ranked #23 nationally in D1A last season, is determined to climb into the upper echelon of the California Conference. The Women’s team is making history—after a top-3 finish last season, they’ve earned promotion to the Division 1 Pacific Mountain Rugby Conference. Together, our 120+ student-athletes embody the grit, talent, and teamwork that define Banana Slug Rugby.
We take an equitable approach to fundraising and program support! Our competitive schedule drives our calendar, but every player receives equal access to travel, coaching, equipment, nutrition, and kit, ensuring that all Slugs have the same opportunity to grow, compete, and succeed.
