Business Economics Academia (BEA) is UCSC's longest-running finance club dedicated to empowering students in business and economics. We bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application through a dynamic mix of professional development, academic support, and community engagement.
Our initiatives include:
- Quarterly study groups with LSS and Baskin Tutors for core business and economics courses meant to foster collaborative learning and academic excellence for our Business Management Economics, Economics, and Global Economics majors.
- General body meetings featuring professional workshops on résumé building, interview preparation, and career exploration, as well as social meetings featuring LinkedIn Speed Dating and BEA Shark Tank.
- Signature events like the annual Business Summit in collaboration with AKPsi, DSP, and 180 Degrees Consulting, connecting students with industry leaders (previously from Adobe, Salesforce, and West Coast Community Bank), and alumni for networking and insights.
- Collaborations with other professional organizations to host panels, case competitions, and skill-building sessions.
- Community-building activities that create a supportive environment for all members.
Your support during Giving Day 2025 will enable us to expand these programs, provide more resources for our members, and continue cultivating the next generation of business and economics leaders at UC Santa Cruz.
