Expand access to course materials for students and show your Slug pride!
The UCSC Library is expanding access to the course materials students need to succeed. Required textbooks, homework platforms, and other materials can cost students over $1,200 a year—and when costs become a barrier, students make hard choices: fewer classes, dropped courses, delayed progress. Your gift helps remove those barriers.
By contributing to the Library's Acquisition Fund, you will help us expand access to textbooks, literature, and other essential course materials for UCSC students.
No student should face barriers to their education simply because they can't afford required materials. Your donation will contribute directly to student success:
- $20 can help support the purchase of a key text available for students to access in the library
- $50 can help support the licensing of an eBook so that an entire class has access to essential readings
- $200 can help support instructors as they move from expensive textbooks to high-quality, free materials they can edit to fit their needs
- $500 can help support licensing videos and other streaming media so that entire classes can access, watch, and discuss current issues
- $1,000 can help support an instructor's move from an expensive homework platform to a free, customizable one
Together, we can make sure every student has what they need to learn. Make a gift to the Library Acquisition Fund today.
As a thank you for your support of $20+ gifts, we will send you (or your favorite Banana Slug!) an exclusive Santa Cruz sticker sheet. Please provide recipient information after checkout to have the sticker sheet sent to someone other than you as the donor.
